Imagine a world where you can bypass all those selfies and and engagement announcements in your social media news feeds? Angel Davis and Lauren Washington, two social media mavens who love keeping up with the latest but hate mundane updates clogging their feed, have come up with an easy solution for simpler social. Angel and Lauren developed the KeepUp App, which allows you to tailor your social media accounts to track and get notified about the updates that matter to you. With KeepUp you can choose the sites you want to track as well as select from 12 major life events to receive news and notifications about. So far the app is compatible with six social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Tumblr and LinkedIn) and is available in the iTunes app store.
In October 2014, Angel and Lauren won $250,000 in 43North’s business competition. As part of their prize they are currently operating out of 43North’s incubator in Buffalo, NY for the next year. Winning the competition allowed them to quit their jobs and devote themselves full-time to KeepUp. With the business resources and mentorship that 43North provides, I look forward to seeing how these ladies develop and expand on the KeepUp concept.
